We Were Feminists Once by Andi Zeisler
This week’s distraction
This week’s distraction is the fashion of Julia Fox.
Here is a woman who clearly dresses for herself. Or as she puts it, for the gals and the gays! Julia made her film debut in 2019 in Uncut Gems and since then has released an autobiography and taken the internet by storm with her authentic and genuine personality and unique outfits and looks. She also briefly attended Rina’s alma mater before dropping out. Julia is one of a kind, so this week let’s all dress for ourselves, or the gals and the gays!
Here are some vintage/thrift stores in Berlin to shop at to find your unique look.

This week Madhvi read
This week Madhvi read I, Phoolan Devi: The autobiography of India’s Bandit Queen, in preparation for our live event with the amazing Dead Ladies Show on Wednesday 28th March. Come along and hear all about this top dead lady — get your tickets here.
This week Rina read
This week Rina read Rental Person Who Does Nothing: A Memoir by Shoji Morimoto — the true story of a guy in Japan who advertises his services as a Rental Person who does nothing. This was one of the most interesting books I have ever read. Well actually, I listened to it. The book is a combo of tweets and text, and made me eager to continue listening and find out where it is going. Give it a read.
This week’s inspiration
It’s women’s day on Friday! If you’re in Berlin, join the Women’s March and then come to this fundraising event celebrating women’s voices through poetry and art — and there’ll be a nice bake sale too. Madhvi will be reading some of her stuff, so it would be lovely to see you all there!
